Officers responded to the scene after reports of a pedestrian collision around 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Sheriff Road, according to Prince George's County police.
Gerber Mejia Reyes, 47, of Hyattsville was found unresponsive and pronounced dead on the scene. The roadway was closed for a short time after the incident and the driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
